Calcined Petroleum Coke
Calcined petroleum coke is a high purity carbon material produced by heating green petroleum coke to drive off moisture, volatile matter, and impurities and to increase its electrical conductivity.The aluminum industry is the biggest consumer of calcined petroleum coke, with 80% of the demand for this carbon material.The balance of 20% of calcined coke demand originates from the steel and chemical industries, mostly as recarburizer and the manufacture of titanium dioxide pigment.

This provides a supplemental carbon source to speed up the production of metallic iron, reducing the need for coke production. As a result energy use and emissions can be reduced.Coal originates from Kazakhstan. Carbon products are essential raw materials used both as fuel and as a carbon source in steelmaking, foundries, aluminium production and energy. Egron Makina supplies a range of carbon products to industrial plants in cooperation with ALTech Group.
The range includes metallurgical coke and coking coal, calcined petroleum coke (CPC), petroleum coke (petcoke), thermal coke and injection coke. Calcined petroleum coke is produced by heat-treating green petroleum coke to remove moisture and volatiles, and its high carbon content makes it a preferred recarburizer and anode raw material. Injection coke is used for slag foaming and carbon injection in electric arc furnaces.
